I've been painting ever since I can remember, usually using oil and acrylic paints. As a self--taught, I was strongly influenced by Impressionists in my earlier works, over time I, however, changed bright impressionistic colors and landscape motifs to darker colors and figurative motifs.
Today, my paintings are a mixture of Abstractionism and Figurativism with the elements of Impressionism. This new style helps me to reveal my feelings and impressions, in order to awake the viewer’s deepest emotions. Through depictions of female bodies, faces and figures I represent myself, my vision, as an artist and a woman, of the surrounding world. The revelation of femininity is the core subject of my art, which I often combine with a challenging background. The main idea of my works is, however, hope: even in dark, dramatic motifs there are always lively colors, standing for hope and optimistism. My latest series of works is a good example of it: a mixture of female depictions combined with stylized Ukrainian folk flower motifs (petrykivka) symbolizes a bad political situation in my home country and at the same time expresses hope for a better future. Like my favorite musician and human rights activist Nina Simone, I believe that "the task of an artist is to reflect the times and situations in which she is." So, I try to follow this motto in my works. Apart from painting on canvas I paint floristic decorative and geometric patterns on different objects, products and surfaces such as wood, glass, bags, shoes etc.
